8.4.10 THE USE OF SEX IN CHRISTIAN ADVERTISING

in the advertisement in world magazine (7.17.10, p.67) for your college you have the picture of a young woman, presumably a student at your school, typing on a laptop in a library setting. the young woman's top, which has five white buttons that i can see, is open. all five are unbuttoned and i can see her bra which is, tastefully, the same color as her top. in looking at the picture,my eyes go right to her breast area. i'm thinking that a similar thing might happen to most men viewing it, especially college age men. these days 80% of young boy have seen pornography.

i know that it is well proven that sex sells products, but i don't think of a Christ centered education as a product but as a painstaking process of coming to consistently chose, in every area, Christ's way as opposed to that of self. looking is induced when women dress in such a way as to call attention to their body parts. such looking is then the occasion of wrong desire and that, Jesus said, is adultery..even if no one, not even the one induced knows it. so, i am disappointed in and tend to think less of your school (of which i know nothing) on a spiritual level as a result of the way you advertised it here. my hope is that this was in the catagory of an unintentional, regrettable and not-to-be-seen-again error. God bless you as you seek to honor Christ in all you do.
